How to Prevent Hair Loss By Shampooing Properly

Hair loss prevention is a complicated yet amazingly easy to apply concept. There are tons of methods for preventing hair loss. Some of those work well, but others do not. One major way to prevent hair loss is by shampooing and conditioning the hair properly. Many shampoos and hair products strip the hair and roots of their oil and nutrients, thus weakening the hair shaft and making it more likely to break.

To shampoo properly you must first choose a product that doesn’t have harsh detergents or chemicals. Generally avoid sulfates and dimithicone. These two ingredients are harsh on delicate hair strands. Choose a rich herbal shampoo made from natural and organic ingredients. Your hair will thank you later! Only use shampoo on your scalp to scrub away impurities. Avoid shampooing the ends of your hair. When you rinse the shampoo it will flow down and cleanse the tips anyway.

A good condition will contain ultra moisturizing compounds and very few oil stripping components. You should pay very close attention to conditioning the ends of your hair, and not your scalp. Conditioning your scalp can cause flakes and over production of oils.

  • Start with a light shampoo and thoroughly cleanse your roots 2-3 times per week, but never on consecutive days.
  • Condition each day that you shampoo, and thoroughly coat the ends of the hair for moisturizing and strengthening.
  • Don’t be afraid to try thickening hair masks and shampoos. These are great even if you haven’t experienced hair loss yet, and can help prevent hair loss in the future.

Shampoo and Condition should be used sparingly, but conditioner should be used to prevent breakage. Simply shampooing alone can leave your hair weak and vulnerable to hair loss causing damages! Try to avoid rough scrubbing as well or tangling your hair in the shower. This especially applies to women and men with longer than average hair.

If a product has a long ingredient list, simply avoid it. You can do so much better for your hair than using chemical ridden carcinogens during shampooing. If you already notice signs of hair loss, consider an herbal hair loss shampoo that stimulates growth of the hair! Shampooing and conditioning properly is the first step towards hair loss prevention, and you wont regret the investment later on.
